Identify
The infamous market research! I help to define the project goals, current (and ideal) audience, what competitors are doing in the space, and how well they are doing. This results in the compilation of ideas, data, and user interviews.
Plan
I apply the broadly gathered information to the scope of the project. This includes working with constraints such as time, budget, tech stack, and client requests. This is critical in establishing an outline for the project and determining exact scope. Architectural elements start to fall into place, such as defined feature lists and brand image.
MVP
Site maps, wireframes, basic component design - all feeding into the Minimum Viable Product. This is a natural evolution of the planning phase, as more concrete ideas begin to shape up and a foundation for the project is set. The ideal audience is interviewed with the assistance of wireframes, to ensure that the feature set and overall user experience is accessible.
Design
Once the project scope and architecture have been set, the experience design begins. I create interactive mockups to replicate the finished product, in both visual aesthetic and usability. These are also run by the ideal users to verify the user interface is appropriate.
Build
A fairly self-explanatory step! Development begins with the approved mockups and tech stack as defined during planning. Comprehensive audits are done to verify the project meets accessibility standards, SEO basics, and functions as expected.
Review
After official launch or beta testing of the project, an overall review is done to solve any UX problems or fix any bugs.
